Expand Infill Housing Development
Description
Why is This Important
Vacant lots weaken neighborhoods, but they also represent real opportunity. By making City‑owned parcels available for construction and providing builders with ready‑to‑use plans, the City is turning empty lots into new homes that strengthen communities and grow Akron's housing stock.
Initiative Wins
Released 50 parcels in Summit Lake for infill development through a request for proposals (RFP) process.
Partnered with Summit County Land Bank and a local architecture firm to create permit-ready plans for a range of infill housing types and a Made in Akron housing pattern book.
