Why is This Important
For decades, the Innerbelt has divided Akron's neighborhoods. This planning process gives the community a voice in what comes next, with the goal of reconnecting neighborhoods, creating new opportunities, and repairing a long‑standing legacy of urban disruption.
Initiative Wins
Engaged 40+ local organizations and facilitated participation from 400+ residents across three open houses and six community meals and conversations.
Engaged youth from Vincent House's Adventure Camp and the University of Akron to contribute ideas and research.
Completed and released the Innerbelt Master Plan, featuring 30+ proposed projects organized around five major strategies.

What We’ve Done This Quarter
Released the Innerbelt Master Plan following intensive community engagement, stakeholder collaboration, and technical analysis.
Brought the Innerbelt Master Plan before the Akron Planning Commission and City Council for review and adoption. The Planning Commission approved the plan in April, and City Council unanimously supported and adopted the plan in May.

Continuing regular meetings with the advisory group.
