Convene early childhood coalition leaders across Akron and Summit County to align goals and improve coordination, building a unified community vision for children from prenatal care through age 8.
Why is This Important
Akron has many dedicated organizations working for young children, but coordination across health, child care, education, and family support systems has been fragmented. Better alignment means fewer gaps, less duplication, and a more seamless experience for families seeking help.
Initiative Wins
Launched the Early Childhood Coordinating Council (EC3) with Summit Education Initiative, Summit County Public Health, and Summit DD to improve coordination across child care, health, education, and family support systems.
