When sites are assessed, documented, and ready to build, businesses can move faster and invest with confidence. Preparing Akron sites in this way positions the City for reinvestment and business attraction and accelerates job creation.

Initiative Wins

Helped secure a $1M grant (managed by the Greater Akron Chamber) for site research, assessment, and cost modeling to ready potential sites for business development.
Completed Phase I environmental and habitat assessments for multiple Akron sites.
Selected a consulting partner in 2026 for technical study and evaluation of additional sites.
